Tip #1 – Breakfast is a Must.

Your car can’t run on empty and neither can your body. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, not simply for energy, but for burning fat as well. As odd as it may sound, rolling out of bed and eating first is very beneficial to your health. The longer you wait to eat in the morning, the closer your body gets to diving into survival mode and shutting down your metabolism.

Tip #2 – Water isn’t just for bathing!

You don’t drink enough water. No one drinks enough water. Studies have shown that many Americans don’t even drink 1/3rd of the recommended daily intake of water. It’s astounding really when you consider that 70% of your body is made up of water, but it is the one thing people forget about. Coffee, Tea, Soda, or whatever else you drink, simply can’t satisfy your body and keep it running like water. Double your water intake and you would be surprised the result!

Tip #3 – Cardio is a must!

There may not be a lot of time in the day, but you can’t afford to spend it on your butt. Even if you can only find time to walk a mile, get out and go! One of the best ways to get the exercise in is to walk your dog, or a baby in a stroller. Not only is the family getting out for some time together, or the dog for some play time, but you are getting some much needed exercise. Walking is a great place to start, but if you can get up the courage, thirty minutes of running can make an amazing change for your body.

It can be tough to get the ball rolling, but once you get started, you might be surprised how much better it will make you feel. By using simple changes in your life, such as getting a solid breakfast, drinking more water, and walking 20 or 30 minutes a day, you will feel younger and look younger in no time. Just keep your nose to the grindstone and don’t give up, you’ll be there before you know it!

Lose Weight Really Fast: These Two Ingredients Will Sabatoge Your Weight Loss

When you decide to take control over your eating habits to lose weight and body fat, it is essential to avoid two ingredients: high-fructose corn syrup and trans-fats. These two health-robbing chemicals are present in a wide-variety of prepared foods, including baked goods, soft-drinks and salad dressings.

High-fructose corn syrup (HFCS) is a common replacement for more expensive cane sugar in a multitude of products. The reason that high-fructose corn syrup is a diet-killer is that it wreaks havoc on blood-sugar levels. High blood-sugar levels are linked to many of the conditions that plague modern life: pre-diabetes (impaired fasting blood-sugar levels) type II diabetes,and coronary heart-disease. One of the primary sources of HFCS in our diets is soft drinks. Did you know that one 48-oz."super-size" soda can contain as many as 550 calories, not to mention the equivalent of over 13 tablespoons of sugar? If you drink one of these every day for a week without reducing your caloric intake or burning off an equivalent amount of calories through exercise, you can gain a pound a week--a whopping 52 pounds a year! Replace any beverages containing HFCS with cold, refreshing water or unsweetened ice tea as a first step for weight loss. If you are a regular consumer of soda, you will lose weight by following this simple step alone.

Trans-fats are commonly found in baked goods such as pies, cookies, crackers and also as oil for frying goods such as french-fries or potato chips. Trans-fats were developed to ensure a long shelf-life for these types of products, but their detrimental health effects were not known at the time of their development. Trans-fats are created by taking a mono-unsaturated (liquid) fat and reacting it with hydrogen gas. The resulting fat from the reaction is solid at room temperature. When we consume trans-fats, they build up in our arteries just as grease clogs a drain. Eventually, this build up of fat in our arteries can cause coronary heart disease and stroke, and is also believed to contribute to dementia in the elderly.

So how can we avoid these lethal ingredients in our foods? Our first and best line of defense is simply by reading the labels on food products. Both high-fructose corn-syrup and trans-fats are required to be listed on labels. Also, be wary of fast-foods such as fried chicken, fish sandwiches and fried pies. Ask if these foods have been prepared with trans-fat free oils or not. If the restaurant staff can't tell you if the food is fried in oil containing trans-fat or not, it's best to avoid it altogether. So educate yourself as a consumer and reap the health benefits of your due diligence.

Lose Weight Really Fast-Follow These 8 Diet Make-Overs and Drop a Pound a Week

Most of us who are looking to lose weight really fast, including a pound a week, have a good idea of what we need to do. You know, eat lots of fruits, veggies, whole grains, and lean proteins. However, many times we just do whatever and sabotage our weight loss efforts.

The good news is if you follow these 8 diet do-overs, you will be able to lose weight and lost body fat. You will love the new you!

Diet Do-Over Tip #1: Eat 2 little breakfast's. This will provide you with more energy. For instance, eat yogurt the first thing in the morning and then peanut butter on banana at 10:00 AM.

Diet Do-Over Tip #2: Get those snacks. When you go for long periods without eating (i.e. longer that  4 hours), your energy level may crash. If you also eat 2 small 150 calorie snacks in addition to your three regular meals, you will remain energized during the day.

Diet Do-Over Tip #3: Pack your brown bag: Instead of eating out with your business partners for lunch, grabbing something from the vending machine, etc., take your own healthy and nutritious lunch.

Diet Do-Over Tip #8: Toss the guilt. Don't punish yourself when you feel you are eating something you should not. You know, lie a chocolate do nut. Instead, look ahead to the next meal and decide to make better choices.
