How to Lose Weight Plan-How to Use The Internet To Help With Weight Loss

You are doing it right now, reading my blog and using the Internet to help you lose weight and to develop a how to lose weight plan. However, you may not be using all the resources available online to your full advantage. There are actually tools, tips, news, recipes, motivational sites and more to help a wide range of people with their weight loss goals, and the best part is, most of them are free.

One of the latest and best free tools is the interactive 2010 version of the U. S. Department of Agriculture’s food pyramid. Packed with personalized nutritional recommendations and tips for dropping the excess pounds, this handy tool is completely new and revised. If you think you know all about the food pyramid but haven’t seen the new one, you are in for a surprise! There are personalized goals and advice where you can track your progress, tasty recipes, and loads of suggestions for realistic weight loss.

The United States is one of the fattest countries in the world with a huge number of people seeking sound advice on how to take off the weight and keep it off. Almost every major news site has a whole section devoted to health and weight loss. Obesity is a real problem, with serious health effects so plenty of research is being done and reported on almost daily.

A recent study looked at the Internet based program in Rhode Island called Shape Up RI. This 12-week, online competition is an effort to help obese and overweight citizens get started on a vigorous weight loss program. Researchers studied groups using the standard online Shape Up program, a version with additional videos on exercise and eating right, and a version that offered the videos plus daily monitoring of weight, diet, and exercise for the day and included computer feedback for the participants. The study concluded that the most successful at shaping up were those who participated in the full program that included tracking and feedback. You may not live in Rhode Island, but this kind of help is available elsewhere on the Internet, just be sure to look for free programs.

Of course there are thousands of recipes online, charts showing optimal weight for your height, forums on dieting and exercise where you can participate in discussions and get advice, calorie and nutritional information on fast foods, and loads of exercise videos and articles.

Don’t spend too much time sitting in front of the computer though! Get your information for the day and then get out there and take a hike or create a great low-calorie dinner and watch that stubborn belly fat melt away.

To achieve total weight loss, knowing the kind of food you take will determine if it will help to burn fat easier. Food replacement is a good alternative for a healthier diet.
