Get Skinny Quick-Body FatTesting

To get skinny quick, some people miss this important step. That is, to figure out where their body fat is.

One of the most overlooked aspects of any diet and fitness program is getting proper body fat testing assessments. This goes far beyond just looking at a weight scale and checking out how much you weigh. You want to know that all that weight you lost is from fat and taking the time to get regular body fat tests done will definitely help you make faster progress towards you goal.

If you're on a weight loss program and have dropped some pounds, how do you know that the loss is from losing fat. The three main components of weight changes come from water, muscle and fat. So which one, or combination of the three, caused the weight loss. If you have regular body fat tests done, then you would know what kind of weight was lost.

Here is a key point. If you want to be successful in your weight management or fitness goals, then do what successful fitness people do. All the successful dieters and fitness pro's will take measurements, track their results and adjust it accordingly to keep progressing towards their personal goal. If the results of a test show that a total of 15 pounds of body weight was lost, a few calculations will break down what component (water, muscle, or fat) had the majority of the weight change.

Here is an example to clarify how body fat testing and your weight loss goal goes hand in hand.

It's the first week of your diet and fitness program and you want to make sure that you start it correctly. The local fitness center does physical assessments and body fat testing, so off to the gym you go to get checked and see where your levels are at. Six weeks later committing to a good diet and fitness program has resulted in a 15 pound weight loss. Now it's time for another assessment to see the hard facts on how you're progressing.

The results of the assessment will show how much of that 15 pounds was fat. Generally, if only 1 to 4 pounds of weight loss is water and muscle but the rest was fat, then the diet and fitness program is a success and you should continue on the program you're on. If only 5 pounds of weight from the 15 is fat according to the body fat test, then there is a problem with the diet or fitness program you're on. It would be wise to make some changes as this perhaps indicates that some dehydration or muscle wasting may be occurring. Continuing with the same program may cause a problem with your health if followed too long. In this case, a change in your program and another assessment 4 to 6 weeks later will determine if the new program is getting better results in fat loss instead of water or muscle loss.

If you are truly committed to lose fat and achieve good health and fitness, then you need to distinguish between just overall weight loss and true fat loss. As you continue your weight loss program, each body fat test gives you the chance to make small changes in diet or exercise routines to see if the next assessment produces better results. Not only does this get you closer to what the ideal program is for you, but it also helps keep you focused on staying with the program and not give up or quit. You will stay motivated by trying to better the last assessment.

Now that we see the importance of body fat testing, your first step is to decide if you want a professional assessment person to test you, or if you want to learn to do it yourself. There are advantages and disadvantages to each decision.

A professional body fat tester can usually be found in most fitness centers and gyms. They have the experience, knowledge and tools to make accurate tests and can suggest a course of action to improve the results of the next test. It takes on the average of about 15 to 30 minutes to complete and you will get a copy of the test to keep. The cost can range between twenty to fifty dollars per test and should be done every 4 to 6 weeks. Some disadvantages are the costs to having it done, searching out a qualified assessment professional and perhaps the slight embarrassment you may feel to have test done.

If you decide to do the test yourself, you will need to learn how to take proper body fat measurements, purchase the tools or equipment for accurate assessments and keep testing many times in order to learn how to do it correctly. An advantage to do your own test is that you can have the privacy and convenience of testing as many times and often as you want in your own home.

Most people will want someone else to do it because of the learning curve involved to take accurate assessments. Another valid reason is to have the option of some suggestions by the professional on what you can do tweak your current program and make solid improvements for the next test.

Now that you know the importance of body fat testing, you should do a little research and get more details on how to incorporate it into your program. This just may be the key ingredient for you to make real progress towards your weight loss and get skinny quick goals.

The next best thing is a sugar cone which has 40 calories. Avoid the waffle cones, especially when they are dipped in chocolate. This can cause the cone to have a whopping 320 calories.

So, yes, we can eat ice cream and still achieve our get skinny quick goals!

Well, today's the last get skinny quick post about Shape Magazine's "Stay Trim Parlor Tricks."

We have learned about the "eat like a kid" and "cone-conscious" approaches to maintain your get skinny quick goals when eating out.

Today, we're gonna learn about how not to be "top-heavy."

When you buy ice cream, things like cookie dough, chopped candy bars, and even sprinkles often have partially hydrogenated oil and loads of empty calories.

Joann Larsen, R.D. founder of dietitian.com says it's better to have a half cup of berries or half a banana (each has 50 calories or less). You can also eat healthy fats like almonds, walnuts, and pecans in moderation.

Other good bets are chocolate syrup and whipped cream which have fewer than 75 calories and less than 1 gram of fat per tablespoon.

So, the good news is that you can still maintain your get skinny quick goals and indulge at the same time!

Well, we all know that to get skinny quick, we have to make some dietary changes!

I came across a couple of what Shape magazine calls "Stay-Trim Parlor Tricks". These tricks are simply learning how to place orders while eating out so you can stay on track for your get skinny quick weight loss goals.

Here is Parlor Trick #1:

Eat like a kid. Gloria Tsang, R.D., a nutritionist in Vancouver, Canada says that a single scoop is close to the recommended half cup serving size.

So what you can do is request for a small or a kid's size scoop. The size would be about the size of a tennis ball.

I was reading the summer issue of Shape Magazine and a dvd of the month the recommend. It's called "The Biggest Loser: Bootcamp.". The say that if you purchase the DVD, you will see why the TV show gets those fabulous results.

According to Shape, trainer Bob Harper takes you through three 10-20 minute workouts that increase in intensity which don't have a lot of rests in between them. Harper keeps the heart rate elevated with cardio blasts and total body sculpting workouts.

For those of us who desire to get skinny quick, we might find this more of a challenge once we get into our 30's and 40's! As a matter of fact, it is not too uncommon for adults to find themselves in there 30's and 40's with widening middles and a larger size hanging in the closet. This gaining of weight is brought on by a slowing metabolism, sitting at a desk all day and by the stress of daily life. For woman there is the added weight gain of having children.

When you finally realize that your size is increasing year by year it is a hard reality to deal with. You have to look at all the options and there sure are a lot of options.

Looking at those young toned bodies running on the beach and remembering when you were once young makes the fad diets hard to resist. The problem with most of these diets is that they are only a temporary fix. You are not curing the problem you are only treating the symptom.

To really fix the weight gain issue you need to take a good look at your life. Are you at a desk job? Are you home with kids all day? Do you pack a lunch or eat out? Do you eat on the road while traveling to work and running errands? All these factors play into weight gain for adults.

The solution is simpler than you think. You have heard it before eat less and exercise more. To do this you do not need to go out and join a gym or buy a scale and weigh every bite of food you put in your mouth. You simply need to put into place and take action upon easy to follow lifestyle changes.

To start with take a look at the food you are eating. Turn over the labels and read what a serving size is and how many calories are in a serving. If you keep in your mind that you want to consume around 1500 calories a day then follow the label you will do fine. At 1500 calories you should loose weight and this is an amount that if you eat an extra cookie you have some room for error.

The next thing you need to do is to get up and move. Remember you do not need to join an expensive gym or invest in dozens of exercise tapes just get up and move. Start with parking farther away from the office. Then put a lead on the dog and go for a walk after dinner. If all you feel you can fit in is 5 minutes start there and move up. In the beginning it may be hard to complete a mile but if you stick to it in a few months you will be walking a few miles with no problem and loosing weight.

Follow these extremely simple steps of paying attention to what you eat and getting up and moving and your waist line and over all health will improve in a sustainable way. You will be on your way to getting skinny quick.

Get Skinny Quick-How to Lose Weight Boxing.

I have to admit that I'm not a boxer though I have taken a class at my local gym called Body Combat.

For those who are open to fun and unique ways to get skinny quick, boxing might be just for you!

Out of all the ways to use your hands for combat applications, boxing remains one of the very best. Boxing provides a brilliant way to move your body in order to hit without being hit. In recent years, however, boxing has moved out of competitive environments and into health clubs. The reason for this is boxing provides a tremendous means in which one can burn fat and develop lean muscle mass. There are those, however, who do not see such value in boxing as a form of exercise. This is only because they do not understand the metabolic effect that boxing has on the body. Of course, "proving" that such an effect exits is not exactly difficult, let me explain further.

Your body needs calories in order to use energy. Even when your body is sitting still your body burns calories in order to function. Of course the less your physical activity, the less calories your body will need. When a person overeats then there will be an excess amount of calories that will be stored as fat. In order to get at this stored fat and convert it to energy, one needs to increase their physical activity level. (Adjusting one's diet certainly would not hurt either.) Boxing provides an excellent means in which to expand physical activity and it is way more fun than long boring jogs.

A boxing workout usually lasts an hour and involves mostly equipment training. For exercise and weight loss purposes, sparring is not necessary but it is advised if you want to get the most out of your training. Equipment training often includes hitting the speed bag, focus mitts, heavy bag and other impact items. Ancillary exercises common to a boxing class often include jumping rope, shadow boxing and the underrated program of medicine ball training.

Now, some may wonder how often one needs to train in order to drop weight. Honestly, it is best to avoid placing a time limit for a weight loss goal when boxing or performing any other training program. After all, once you reach your goal you do not want to discard your exercise program and proclaim "finito". This is a bad attitude and should be avoided. Instead, one should start to make boxing a regular part of their training program and then stick with it. Weight will come off....it has to!

In terms of the number of days a week needed for training, two or three days would be optimum. Anything more than that runs the risk of sending the body into an over trained state. One hour a week will deliver limited results, but if that is all you can squeeze go for it and then try and find a supplemental training program you can do in the comfort of your home. Really, there is very little complexity associated with using boxing as your road to weight loss. All that is required is time, dedication and personal desire. Results will then be practically guaranteed.

This sounds like a cool way to get skinny quick!

Hot, spicy chili peppers fall into the same category as hot mustard, Henry says. He studied them under the same circumstances as the mustard and they worked just as well. A mere three grams of chili peppers were added to a meal consisting of 766 total calories.
